We're Hiring- Mechanical Engineer Needed

Newton Design is actively looking to recruit a motivated Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for design, production, testing, and delivery of simulation and training devices. Candidates must be able to work independently on smaller assignments or as part of a small team on our larger projects. Typical job assignments involve the design of simulated aircraft, land vehicle, or ship/submarine components. Design complexity ranges from individual parts to fully integrated training systems. Responsibilities include development and testing of prototype devices, altering the design as required based on test results, and overseeing the manufacturing process of the final design.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Development of new products

• Modification of existing components

• Prototype testing

• 3-D modeling

• Production of 2-dimensional drawings based on 3-D models

• Interpretation and production of hydraulic system diagrams

• Interpretation and production of electro-mechanical diagrams

• Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) parts sourcing, selection, and vendor management

• Support of manufacturing process through product realization

Qualifications and Skills

• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology

• 5+ years’ experience in above or related fields

• Demonstrated SolidWorks experience

• Comfortable working with standard MS Office tools

Requirements

• Domestic and International travel may be required.

• Occasionally required to work overtime, holidays, weekends, or night shifts.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Physical demands typical of this job include:

o Sufficient mobility and dexterity to operate hand and power tools to assemble trainer components and install into the final structure.

o Must be able to regularly lift 25lbs, stand for 10 hours, and move about the facility.
